Overnight Kendrick Lamar dropped his highly anticipated album, To Pimp A Butterfly. Arriving a week before the scheduled release date, the album has been the topic of every other tweet I’ve seen so far today. No other release matters this week.

On first listen, the album sounds more in the vein of Section.80 than good kid m.A.A.d. city, particularly in tone, as he reflects on similar subject matter with a heavy dose of Jazz attached.

Not only does the album sound great, it also has some very in depth social and political commentary, making this project a key one for our generation.
