There’s a joke amongst my friends that I don’t have eyes. I do have eyes, but they’re so small that they’re pretty non-existent. Personally I think my eyes are one of my best features and my friends are just eye haters, but I won’t lie that my eye make up is purposely tailored to make my eyes look slightly more present on my face.

Eye Make Up

So for the letter E in this week’s Lily Loves alphabet, I decided to showcase my eye make-up essentials in Lily Loves Eye Make-Up. These are the five tools I use to get the perfect eye…

1
Eyelash curlers
Shu Umera
£20

Eyelash curlers must be by Shu Umera. I won’t use any other brand. This is the one tool that I can’t live with out in my make up collection. It’s the first thing I use on my eyes and opens them up a lot so they don’t look so small. Then I can add eyeliner, eyebrow wax/powder and mascara to create something similar to a regular sized human eye and not the eye of a shrew.

2
Scandaleyes Waterproof Eyeliner
Rimmel
£3.99

I’ve been using Rimmel eyeliner since I first started playing with make up around 12 years old. I do like liquid eyeliner but genuinely don’t have enough time to fuck around with that shit on a daily basis. I save it for special occasions, plus my eyes are already almond shaped so I don’t do too much to change the shape, just add a bit of a flick at the end of my lash line.

Benefit
Brow Zings: Brow Shaping Kit
£24.50

Eyebrow wax/powder is essential to my life after an over-plucking incident in my teens when a boy in my year called me “Bushkins” and I went home mortified and streamlined my brows, but they didn’t grow back to their original glory for years.

My eyebrows weren’t even bad, I just had Cara Delevingne slugs ahead of my time and one boy wouldn’t let me live. While they’re pretty much back to normal now, I still like to add a little definition with Benefit’s brow kit which includes both wax and powder to get perfect eyebrows.

Talika
Lipocils Expert
£33

To combat the eyebrow anorexia I was dealing with in my teens, I got put onto this. It encourages hair growth so many people choose to use it on their lashes to accentuate them. I however, need no help in that area but a little application to my eyebrows every night has caused them to grow fuller and brought me back into my Bushkin-self.

It’s kinda magic to be honest and I was very doubtful it would work, but it has without any doubt aided my regrowth, Lipocils have a number of different products for both lashes and brows.

Dior
DIORSHOW Black Out Mascara
£25

Mascara is a very new addition to my make-up game because my eyelashes are so long they look fake. Like I genuinely look like a drag queen or a Droog from A Clockwork Orange. But after much pressure from a friend who thinks my eyelashes are a waste if I don’t add mascara to them, I’ve found one that makes them thicker and not just freakishly long. Dior Black Out is so good that perfect strangers like to ask if they’re my real eyelashes. It’s the best mascara ever.
