1. What’s the meaning behind your name?
I chose Money Makin Nique for a couple reasons. 1. being realistic. For shit like rent, bills, gas money, the car note, and having women. You have to make money. I have all these responsibilities to handle so I literally gotta be Money Makin Nique. 

Even before I saw the movie Paid In Full people would tell me I remind them of “Mitch.” That’s what led me to watching it, and once I did it instantly became my favorite movie of all time. So yea, I am named after Mehki Phifer’s character Money Makin Mitch from the movie Paid In Full. I know every line of that movie by heart. 

It’s a cliché that I keep on purpose. A stage name like Money Makin Nique is a typical rapper name. I know for a fact some bloggers, critics and industry ppl may overlook me just based on my name… Then they gotta double back when they hear somebody they know bring me up or hear some music they like and didn’t know it was me. Just goes to show, mufuckas should listen first, before they decide they don’t fuck with something. That’s the whole point of my name. 

2. What other names have you had? 
Before Money Makin Nique I was Rollz Royce Nique lol. I chose that one for the same reasons but after a while I felt like it was corny. My girlfriend at the time would always giggle when somebody called me that in public. Plus I don’t own a Rolls Royce. But the Rolls Royce Phantom is one of my favorite cars. 

3. Which song of yours would first want people to hear?
This song called Rent Money I made with my boy Slade Da Monsta. We worked on that song everyday for 3 months. First song of mines to give me chills and growing up I was taught when the music gives you chills, it’s good. 

4. Who was your Hip Hop idol growing up?
Too many to name. Biggie, Cam’ron, Styles P, Pharrell, Nas to name a few, the list could go on.

5. Which musician(s) would you most like to work with? 
Coco Owino. Pharrell. SWV. Nicole Wray.

6. If you weren’t doing music, what would you be doing instead? 
Prolly doing some shit I got no business doing. Honestly, and that’s sad

7. What’s success to you?
Being able to provide for your family. The best feeling is being able to help someone when they ask for it. Also being able to feed your family by doing what you love. 

8. Which country produces the best food and women?
Canada. Toronto, Ontario.

9. What’s your vice?
Exotic dancers and pornstars with real bodies. Sneakers and clothes too. Shouts to the UK, plz tell Alexis Silver to come out of retirement.
