Less than a day later I’m tying the letters R.I.P. once again, this time for Nate Dogg. While Smiley Culture was a great influence on my love for music as a whole, I began listening to west coast Hip Hop from a very young age so Snoop, Dre, Warren, Nate, Kurupt, Daz and Xzibit almost feel like distant uncles. As a collective, they came across as a family, making it likely that there are a whole bunch of people out there that feel the way I do about them. When I found out Nate Dogg had died, it wasn’t a massive shock as I knew that he’d suffered from two strokes last year. But still I’m sad that one of the most iconic singers of our generation is gone. R.I.P. Nate Dogg.
