You might remember earlier this month, we referred to Elro as a young Mike Skinner. Well it seems The Streets MC also saw the cheeky side of himself in the young Welsh rapper because Elro is featured on Skinner’s new mixtape, Cyberspace and Reds: The Deluxe Edition.

The free mixtape has been hyped for months now, with The Streets fans all over the globe becoming increasingly impatient. The free release boasts a whole army of SB.TV favourites including Wretch 32, Scru Fizzer and Frisco. Big names from the grime scene such as Wiley, Jammer, Trim and Fumin also feature. Not to mention Kano, who hasn’t traded bars on a track with Mike since Fit But You Know It (Remix) back in 2004. Loudmouth, RoxXxan, and Ghost Poet all feature to produce a mixtape that represents grime in its many formats.

Cyberspace and Reds was originally only available to iPhone owners. Skinner asked fans to scan a barcode on his website and another on a ‘300g tin of tomato soup by a well known brand’ in order to download the mixtape. He then decided to include his non-iPhone-owning fans explaining, “This is for all my android, nokia and blueberry haters. the deluxe edition of cyberspace and reds featuring fresh barz on the robots tune by frisco.” There are a few changes to the mixtape, with Skinner adding, “Also a new song featuring the beat i posted the other week with joey g-zus and my final ever recorded rap. Not forgetting the loudmouth tune that’s been fixed.”

The fifth and final album by The Streets, titled Computers and Blues, is due for release on February 7th. The album’s first single, Going Through Hell, is out on Monday.

Since the last release from The Streets, grime artists have continued to top the UK charts and flirted with the US scene. This mixtape reminds listeners of where it started at, while providing an acoustically sound suggestion of where it’s going.
