A$AP Mob stopped by Hot 97 last night for an interview with Funkmaster Flex.

The mob, particularly A$AP Rocky, spoke frankly on hip hop’s present hot topic, Kendrick Lamar‘s Control verse. In the interview, Rocky claimed that while he didn’t agree with Kendrick’s “King of New York” statement (“I feel like that King of New York shit… You smoking crack… You crazy.”), he didn’t take any malice from the verse and believes it has been a positive shake-up in the industry. Watch the interview below.

The mob then began a 16 minute freestyle, with A$AP Rocky, Ferg, Nast, Twelvyy and Ant taking to the mic. The first part of the session seemed to be in support of A$AP Ferg’s debut album, Trap Lord, with each member energetically freestyling, and delivering in celebratory fashion.

Part two of the session displays particularly strong moments from Rocky and Twelvyy, but in the last verse, Ferg unleashes a barbed attack on Kendrick Lamar’s Control statement in what could be the strongest response to Lamar’s claims yet.
