ST 2 Lettaz has already had a strong year. With the release of his debut album, The G, entirely produced by the legendary Block Beattaz, Crooked L has continued his climb, despite the speed bump break up of G-Side. That shit is in the past. Now, him and Slow Motion Soundz have yet another project in the words, this time with Jackie Chain, a buddy and fellow Hunstvillain. The two together have come to be known as Doobie Brothaz. Yes. According to Alabama legend, the duo recorded quite a bit of tracks a couple of years back and lost them tragically (possibilities include: tracks were too hot that they ignited in flames, tracks were too cold that they froze the computer, weed coma). At the end of the day, these two together have much more potential than G-Side. Jackie kind of rockin’ that Aoki hair, you feel me? Regardless, the duo have returned, launching their first single for the project titled “John Legend.” I’d like to personally thank The BasedGod for starting this wonderful trend of titling a song with a person’s name (“Ellen Degeneres”, “Tom Ford”, “Ken Burns”). On the song, a smooth beat with guitars and down South bass is perfect for the two rappers to hurdle through, Lettaz crackin’, “All that messy shit just not us. Fuck love, ’cause we got lust.” Peep the track below and look out for the upcoming full-length project between Chain and Lettaz, aptly titled Interstate 565. And yes, it will be entirely produced by Block Beattaz. Heaven help our speakers.
